UK artist-producer duo The Code are currently creating their own lane in electronic music and are producing a unique, smoky take on electronic soul. They’re a duo I’ve had my eyes on closely since the ‘1/11’ album, since their latest string of releases have been nothing short of refreshing and their new track “Sedative” doesn’t disappoint either. The song doesn’t have a drugged out feel as the title may suggest, as the bass line and chopped up vocal samples littered throughout certainly pack a punch, just enough to keep your attention, but not too heavy to the point it distracts you from the message behind the song. It’s another great effort and one that has anticipating their new project. Stay tuned for the duo’s upcoming EP, ‘Blue Electronica’.
